Who is responsible and how to contact us
ClickFights is operated by Kevin Robertson in the United States as a Mothwire project. For privacy, account access, removal, or a child's information, write to [email protected].
What we collect
We store your username, email address, password hash, verification status, selected or uploaded avatar, and account settings. Before registration and for existing accounts, we use the date of birth you enter to determine whether the account is eligible and whether teen defaults apply. We do not save the birth date; we save an age group and when the check occurred.
We store challenges, move choices, outcomes, XP, ranking statistics, lobby chat, private messages, blocks, reports, moderation actions, and support messages. To keep the game secure and working, records may include IP addresses, session information, activity times, and technical error information. Information you send to support may include your name, email address, and message content.
Why we use it
We use account and game information to sign you in, run and score fights, show rankings and fight history, and deliver account email as part of providing the service you request. We use technical and moderation information to protect players, prevent abuse, and keep the service reliable. We use support messages to answer requests and resolve problems. We use age group information to enforce eligibility and provide safer defaults for teens. We do not sell player personal information or use it for behavioral advertising.
For people whose local law requires a legal basis for processing, these purposes generally rely on performance of our agreement with you, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting ClickFights, and compliance with legal obligations where applicable. We rely on your choice when you turn optional private messaging on. You can turn it off at any time in Account Settings. Where the law requires another basis or parental authorization, we will address that requirement before using the information for that purpose.
Who sees information
Your fighter name, avatar, rank, statistics, and completed fight summaries can be visible to other players. Lobby chat is visible to players in the lobby. Private messages are shown to their participants. Your email address, password hash, and security records are not public.
Fighter profiles also show the last recorded game activity time, displayed in the viewer's local time.
Staff badges identify the administrator and appointed moderators on fighter profiles.
Appointed moderators can remove lobby messages and silence outgoing chat and private messages. Moderators do not gain access to private conversations through these tools. The administrator can review moderation reasons, silence times, and the text of removed lobby messages in a protected action history.
We may review chat and messages when responding to reports or protecting the service. DigitalOcean hosts the game, Cloudflare provides web traffic delivery and security, and Resend processes support and account email. These providers may process information needed to deliver their services. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
International processing
ClickFights is run from the United States. Your information may be processed there and by service providers in other countries, which may have different privacy laws from yours. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your location.
Retention and account removal
Account and game records remain while your account is active. You can remove your account in Account Settings using your current password. This ends sign-in, replaces your fighter name and email with nonpersonal values, replaces your password with an unusable value, removes your custom avatar, and removes your fighter from live lists and rankings. Pending challenges close without a result.
Completed fights, lobby chat, private conversations, and moderation records may remain with a generic deleted-fighter name because they are shared with others or needed to protect the service. Message text you wrote can still be visible to its original audience. We keep shared records while needed to preserve other players' records, and security, report, and support records while needed to investigate abuse, handle disputes, or meet legal requirements. Backups and provider records may take additional time to expire. Contact us if a retained message contains personal information you want reviewed.
Daily cleanup deletes lobby chat messages older than 30 days once they fall outside the latest 100 messages. The latest 100 remain available even during a quiet period. This cleanup does not delete private messages or support conversations.
Other cleanup runs regularly in small batches. Completed fight details normally expire after 7 days; cancelled, declined, or expired challenge records after 30 days; private messages after 90 days; reviewed message reports and closed support conversations after 180 days; support spam and processed mail-delivery receipts after 30 days; and application error logs after 14 days. Open cases and related evidence may remain longer. Player XP, win/loss/draw totals, career move totals, compact streak counters, and protected administrator/moderator action history remain for progression and accountability.
Staff can remove an individual lobby message sooner. It disappears from chat, while its text and the removal reason remain in moderation history for review. Daily lobby cleanup does not erase that history.
Your choices and rights
You can change your avatar and account details in Account Settings, turn private messaging off, block a fighter, and remove your account. You can also email us to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your information, or to object to or ask us to limit certain uses. Rights vary by location and may have exceptions where records are shared with other players or must be kept for safety or legal reasons. We may need to verify that the account belongs to you before acting. If you are in a place with a privacy regulator, you may also complain to that regulator.
Children and teens
ClickFights is for players 13 and older. We use a neutral date-of-birth check before collecting registration details and ask existing players to confirm their age. If an existing account identifies as under 13, we restrict access. The account holder can remove the account or contact us to ask us to review its information. Contact us if you believe a child under 13 has given us information.
Private messaging is off by default for players who identify as 13–17. They can choose to turn it on or off in Account Settings. Turning it off does not erase earlier conversations. Message participants can block one another, and recipients can report a private message for administrator review. We encourage players to avoid sharing contact information or location with strangers.
Cookies, app install, and security
ClickFights uses session and security cookies for sign-in and normal operation. An unsuccessful registration age check sets a browser cookie for a limited period to prevent repeated signup attempts. The lobby saves whether you left your fighter profile open or collapsed in this browser's local storage, separately for each account; this choice is not synced to our server. The optional installable app stores static files on your device so an offline screen can be shown; fights and chat still require a connection. We use reasonable safeguards, though no internet service can guarantee perfect security.
Updates
We may update this Policy as the game changes. Material changes will be communicated through the site or another reasonable account notice.
